Extra: The Antisemitic Cult of "Free Palestine"

I have been at this for over a year now. From the very beginning I knew something felt off with the “free Palestine” movement. Why did it only explode in popularity AFTER the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust? Why do its members fail to empathize with the victims of October 7th and the hostages Hamas STILL HOLDS EVEN TODAY? Why do they insist on gaslighting literally everything about their movement, claiming they are at varying times “pro-Palestine”, “anti-Zionist”, “anti-Israel”—but not “pro-Hamas” or “pro-Hezbollah”, even though those are the forces directly fighting against Israel and the “Zionist entity” as the charming Ayatollah Khamenei puts it. We have seen their flags flying proudly at “free Palestine” rallies. It is no secret that Sinwar, Haniyeh, and Nasrallah are “martyrs” to many of them. They proudly chant “from the river to the sea…”, which in the original Arabic is a direct call to ethnic cleansing and genocide of every single Jew in Israel: “from the water to water, Palestine will be Arab”.

Why will they not own up to standing with antisemitic terrorists? Do they not believe what they’re doing is right and righteous? Why are you so afraid of facing consequences for standing up for your (morally abhorrent) beliefs?

One of the most telling signs of the antisemitic delusion of our era is in the fact that opponents of the existence of the state of Israel cannot advance their arguments without denying historical fact. No serious historian on Earth disputes that Jews are indigenous to Eretz Yisrael. Yet what is the rhetoric the “free Palestine” crowd chooses to advance?

They call Jews living in their indigenous land “colonizers”, and Israel itself a “colonialist power”. Never mind the fact that a COLONY needs a HOMELAND to come from. Where are the Jews from again? The particularly deplorable among their ranks will tell you Jews should “go back to Poland”, a statement I find so shocking to the conscience that if I ever heard it uttered in real life it would take every molecule of self-control in me to not explode in anger like Jesus in the temple.

Now a good chunk of this is simply ignorant racism. They wouldn’t know a Mizrahim from a Sephardim. Their minds would be absolutely blown away by the fact that many Jews who were ethnically cleansed from Arab countries in the past decades—speak Arabic.

But there are smarter members among the “free Palestine” antisemites that know *exactly* what they’re doing. They prey on the easily confused and the younger who have not yet learned any significant amount of history. They know that by twisting truth to serve their purposes, they can gridlock liberal democracies with their own citizens’ moral confusion while Israel fights alone against an ever-growing number of enemies.

This is the battle of truth I have been in for the past year. Those who have been taken in by the “free Palestine” cult are so deep into the hole of delusion that reality itself seems like a conspiracy to them. They cannot comprehend that Zionism is just like any other ethnic peoples’ movement for self-determination in their homeland; like the Republic of Ireland ironically enough with their recent dive into antisemitic nonsense. Those who believe Israelis to be “evil” don’t recognize the hate that blinds them to what’s actually going on.

So I think it is entirely fair to call “free Palestine” a cult. Not only does it require a suspension of belief in reality, but it sucks people in with pathos and preys on their natural human empathy. It doesn’t matter how many facts you present to someone if all they hear about is millions of Gazans being “genocided” every day, Israelis harvesting Palestinian organs (a callback to old-school blood libels), forced starvation and “death marches”, etc. There is an un-fricking-believable amount of misinformation out there. Perhaps I got lucky in being able to recognize it for the antisemitic nonsense it is.

But that still leaves the direly urgent question of how we pull everyone else out. This is not sustainable for society over the long term, nor the short term. Jewish civil rights **are not optional**. They cannot wait and hope that the hate will subside at some distant point in the future. The hate has only, only grown. It has escalated out of control in more than one city in recent weeks, with Montreal and Sydney’s Jewish communities experiencing uncontrollable antisemitic vandalism. Not to mention the Amsterdam Pogrom.

And it always would come to this if left unchecked. Every single person who has EVER participated in the cult of “free Palestine” is culpable for the rising hate across the world. You have all directly contributed to the conditions in which Jews are now being globally terrorized. And all for your sheer ignorance at your own weakness to antisemitism.

They say that you catch more flies with honey. I have never been that person. I have no patience for antisemites to come around to sanity. The world simply does not have time. So let me be clear: it is open war with the ideology of “free Palestine”. And I am going on the offensive. Truth and Justice cannot lose. Antisemite: beware.
