Writers of History

It has happened. The event we have most dreaded, yet always anticipated, has at last come to pass. Populist antisemitism has risen to power in America. We, the tolerant, are becoming outnumbered in our own land. Democracy has chosen to cannibalize itself in the name of hatred. I know not how this story will ultimately end; but tragedy unimaginable now seems on the path to becoming inevitable.

My position in history could not be clearer. My purpose in this life has been given to me. It is not the one I wanted, but it is the one I have. I am to record the events of our time as they now escalate beyond the control and comprehension of anyone currently alive. Historians will read my words as I type them now, searching for the point at which the atrocities of our near future became inevitable. I pray it is not too late to change this fate; but the walls close in all around us.

We already know what happens when “anti-Zionists” control society; or rather, when society and popular will itself let anti-Zionism run rampant through the streets. The expulsion and mass exodus of New York City’s Jewry is now in motion just as it was across the Middle East and North Africa several decades prior. No one knows for sure just how bad Mamdani will be; but let’s not kid ourselves. I have a better idea than most, as I have studied exactly his sort of antisemitism for the past two years. I will tell you what I know. I will give near the whole damn game away in the following paragraphs. I will tell you what I believe we must do to reverse our path to the otherwise inevitable. Even so, there is no certainty that it can be reversed now.

We are democratically outnumbered by the intolerant, or those who will tolerate intolerance. Thus, tolerance can and will be extinguished in our time just as it was systematically eradicated in the Third Reich. Truth and Justice will die long, slow deaths. We will not receive the vindication of history within our lifetimes. Even a hundred years may be too short a time to reverse this betrayal of the Good. But—we must carry on. We have no choice. Someone must stand for the Good even if the whole world turns against us.

So what is the solution? What can we possibly do in the face of such reckless hate? We must organize resistance; but we must do so very, very carefully. Violence must be stricken right out. The intolerant crave violence. They want martyrs. Violence plays right to their ambitions; because just like Herr Hitler, they are ruthlessly opportunistic. They will take a chance occurrence like the lone wolf arsonist who lit the Reichstag fire and run with it just the same in order to persecute their opponents and/or tighten their grip on power. They will name streets after their ‘Shahids’. Don’t give them a Horst Wessel. It plays right to their hand.

Likewise, Republican attempts to strip Mamdani of citizenship and expel him from the country are so shortsighted. That won’t stop a democratic, popular, populist movement. There are now millions like Mamdani just waiting in the wings. Exiling him will create a martyr in spirit. He will return in twenty years to claim his crown. You must think the long game.

Firstly, we cannot make the assumption that Mamdani will play the most extreme cards available to him. I myself made this mistake in the days after his election. My mind jumped to the catastrophe I have seen in my nightmares. But you must not think him so idiotic as to immediately seize and wield power like his fascist dictator role models; we have their examples to draw criticism from readily in the public conscious, and so he will not follow exactly in their footsteps. What is the smartest play in response to our predictions of imminent doom? Why, it is to act like a moderate—even though we know he isn’t.

Thus, think as someone operating inside a democracy with the express intent of destroying that democracy. Mamdani must at all times maintain public support and approval for the purpose of gaining re-election in four years; at or around such a time, also expect a subtle push to remove or increase the term limits. I think he is unlikely to bring NYC to immediate financial ruin. Mamdani is clever like a fox, or a devil. He is a smart, charming, handsome young man. Do not underestimate his planning or his charisma. It would be extremely stupid for him to immediately waste his hate movement’s golden opportunity to seize power on obviously terrible economic policies and thus lose popular support; his ‘comrades’ (and his parents) would never forgive him for such a rash mistake. Democracy and the ‘will of the people’ is how he and the DSA—the “Democratic” Socialists of America—will slowly strangle the life out of the once-Greatest City in the World.

I believe therefore that during his first term Mamdani will pose as a moderate social reformer. He has an excellent role model already in Karl Lueger, the populist antisemitic mayor of Vienna who himself inspired Hitler. Don’t believe the outlandish promises Mamdani made on the campaign trail; for the antisemite, lies are a perfectly acceptable method of attaining power. He will try to and perhaps succeed in making life minorly better for the average New Yorker. Perhaps he will implement free or reduced-fee public transportation, which is likely achievable provided a combination of moderate tax increases (counterproductive, I know, but bear with me) and budget cuts; for example, to the police. What about crime, you ask? He will probably try to address it by increasing living standards among the poorest with targeted tax relief, which can conceivably decrease crime by addressing the root issue for many in poverty. This is by no means a guarantee; but it is a smart gamble for him to take.

All of this sounds wonderful for a liberal-minded person. They won’t see or will refuse to see the other side of his ambitions. Because the true aim is very long-term: the decoupling of America’s Jews from the state of Israel. He will do this through propaganda and smiles, never condoning violence directly. He will simply marginalize every Zionist in the city. He will shake hands with everyone, Jew or gentile. But he will explicitly promote and encourage only those his ideology deems “good Jews”. Expect the Neturei Karta to be upheld as the exemplar of such; and expect many who don’t know any better to believe that they represent the voice of Jews everywhere. I know, I know, the Neturei Karta are only slightly-less crazy than those who subscribe to the ideology of the Black Hebrew Israelites. It cannot be avoided now. It will be many decades before we can reverse the effects of this propaganda; but in any case, we must start now to attempt to block each and every “education” initiative Mamdani’s government puts forth. Indoctrination is how he and his hate movement will win the long game.

Behind the scenes, Mamdani will move rapidly to consolidate power. He has been planning his coup; or rather, his ‘comrades’ have already laid the groundwork for such long ago. You think conservatives are the only ones that can come up with a Project 2025? Mamdani has demonstrated his willingness to directly exert control over law enforcement by threatening to arrest the democratic leader of the Jewish state, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, if he were to set foot in the city which hosts the UN General Assembly. Outrageous? Yes. But only the beginning.

Mamdani will replace the NYPD Commissioner with a crazy antisemite of one sort or another, who will either slowly or rapidly replace the entire police force with crazy antisemites. The ‘encampments’ for terror we saw spring up across college campuses nationwide? Expect them to receive official police sanction, and expect them to expand across the entire city. Mamdani’s government will do this under the guise of ‘fighting police brutality’ or some such and order the force to ‘back off’ from strictly enforcing the law; but in reality, the police will be recruited directly from the same pool of people in the terror encampments and so will back their actions unequivocally.

This will be the beginning of Mamdani’s very own SturmAbteilung, the ‘brownshirts’. Remember that he founded his own chapter of SJP at his alma mater. Their type of violence-endorsing antisemite are perfect for this sort of role. Expect Mamdani to be the first to condemn the inevitable and increasing attacks on kosher shops, synagogues, and Jewish schools; and expect his police to do nothing about it (some of those that work forces, are the same that burn shuls). Anti-Zionism will become the propaganda slogan of the city; and eventually, violence against Zionists will be seen as a “legitimate” expression of anger, for any number of the typical libels. We know first on Mamdani’s hit list is the Israeli Technion on Cornell Tech’s campus. If Mamdani cannot sink it legally, the “pro-Palestine” mob will come for it with unofficial-official government approval. They will smash windows with glee, burn, vandalize, assault, perhaps even worse—and Mamdani’s DAs are unlikely to prosecute, if his police even decide to make arrests.

And there are other ways to intimidate, in ways that don’t require centralized coordination or even any directive at all. “Working towards the Führer…” Trash on streets outside kosher shops that takes weeks to pick up. Endless city construction in primarily-Jewish neighborhoods. Power outages that always seem to last the longest there…In short, life for the average New Yorker will probably minorly improve over Mamdani’s first term. Life for the average Jewish New Yorker will go from okay, to bad, to okay again, to worse and worse, to eh, to…

Mamdani promised the residents of New York City cake, free rent, and less Jews. They will receive only one of these things; and it isn’t cake. Remember that during the height of Nazi power in 1936, the Nazis disguised their antisemitism from the world when the Olympics came to Berlin; when in reality, the worst was yet to come. New Yorkers will be gaslit in four years into not believing the unbelievable trials they are about to go through and the events that will play out right in front of their eyes. I am afraid that Mamdani will succeed in doing so; and thus, his consolidation of power will turn into an exercise of it if and when he wins re-election.

What’s more, the terrible truth is that antisemitism itself wins elections, and wins big. Mamdani won his first term primarily due to economic promises and secondarily due to antisemitism; in his second term, it will be vice-versa. By then he will have gained enough control over the judiciary, broader legal system (the NYPD will have long been in his complete control by then), and other levers of power to truly push the boundaries of acceptability. At the state level, Governor Kathy Hochul has already shaken Mamdani’s hand; or rather, she has ‘kissed the ring’. She is firmly in his pocket; she saw where the true center of power was heading, and she sold out to it. She knows that if she does not ‘bend the knee’ to antisemitism she has no chance at re-election. Do not expect help to come from the state government to alleviate the “anti-Zionism” about to be unleashed on the Big Apple.

And on the subject of the judiciary and legal system, Mamdani’s blessing will soon make or break those who seek positions of authority in the legal profession. DAs will be replaced with their antisemitic colleagues at the earliest convenience. There are many such now in law just waiting in the wings for their chance to seize power. Believe me: I witnessed my own law school overtaken with “anti-Zionist” hatred. It literally ran me out of town and out of the legal profession. Law “professors” like Sahar Aziz at Rutgers Law have been working overtime to convert the next generation of legal professionals at the altar of Jew hatred. They care neither for Truth nor Justice; only that by which they can enact their own agenda. They are already weaving antisemitism into the very fabric of our jurisprudence. In time, they will make it de facto impossible for Zionists to be in the legal profession; then, de jure. Popular will has already demonstrated its willingness to elect antisemites to power; and for those judges that are appointed by the mayor, it is already a foregone conclusion that he will choose from the growing number of antisemitic candidates in law.

I can no longer fight this battle at the institutional level; I do not exist in that world anymore. I don’t know who can or will fight it; but someone must, before the legal system replicates the judicially-sanctioned antisemitism of the Third Reich. There are other battles I myself must fight for the very soul of humanity. I learned well from Sun Zi; I know what terrain is advantageous to me. I once made the mistake of underestimating my opponents. I will not do so again. Whoever will champion the cause in the legal profession: you have my unequivocal support, in whatever you need.

There is a great irony in the fact that Mamdani has appeared as a sort of anti-Trump; because of course it was Trump himself who set the modern example of consolidating power and testing the boundaries of our constitutional system of checks and balances. Trump’s first term essentially set the board up for his second to have unprecedented executive power, not least of the reasons being his judicial appointments. Yet, for all his authoritarian bluster, I do not believe Trump is a bad actor; that is, I do not believe that Trump is operating with the specific intention of ending American democracy.

This is what the Democratic (National) Socialists of America intend to accomplish—the end of democracy itself. The very reason they have ‘Democratic’ in their name is because they intend to accomplish this mad power grab through democratic means; just as, you guessed it, Herr Hitler did. Tyranny of the majority for ever more. They intend to set up a system of indoctrination and intimidation such that no other candidate but their own chosen may ever gain power again. It is perhaps a historical reach, but picture the final days of the Roman Republic: Julius Caesar, for all his literally dictatorial power, thrice refused the kingly crown. But he served to weaken the foundational structure of the Republic such that when Octavian came along he handily crowned himself with approval of the people; and, what’s more, Octavian (then Caesar Augustus) masked his own power by having the obliterated Roman Senate pretend it still held any. And thus is how a Mamdani-esque figure may truly end the American Republic: with thunderous applause.

It could even be Mamdani himself that wears the crown in one or two dozen years, though I mentioned in my last letter that he is not a natural-born U.S. citizen and thus under our current Constitution the letter of the law states he cannot be POTUS. Keywords: ‘current’ and ‘letter of the law’. You may think our systems, our institutions, and our Constitution can withstand any attack, no matter how coordinated. You would be dead wrong. The fault lines and weak points of our democracy are so obvious. They’re right in the open for all to see. Ultimately, nothing you have ever learned about our Constitution or rule of law can save you from the mob. Our system of checks and balances has always relied on the good faith of its participants. Corrupt enough, and the system will most assuredly disintegrate. Our democracy is strong and robust; but not strong enough, not robust enough. At the state level, it is practically papier-mâché. It will fall like dominoes. We can prop up one or two; but for how long?

Yet, we must prevent a ‘Students for “Justice” in Palestine’-ideologically captured candidate from attaining the Oval Office at all costs. Because no matter how strong Israel has become at such a time, even if they can achieve total self-reliance for all necessary supplies and military technology (and that is a very big ‘if’ for a country the size of New Jersey that is mostly in the desert), America has the one thing that ought to terrify every human being on the planet: enough nuclear warheads to wipe out any country on the map. And they can conceivably be attained by almost any natural-born citizen of America over the age of 35 at any four-year interval. If someone who subscribes to the ‘Free Palestine’ ideology gains ahold of this leverage, only one of two things will happen: either Israel, and thereby “Palestine”, will be utterly obliterated from the world map within hours of the attainment of the nuclear football, or: the Jewish inhabitants will be threatened with such and forced to flee in yet another mass exodus from the land of Israel. This is what the ideology of anti-Zionism demands. We must therefore fight this existential battle for hearts and minds, because it is most assuredly existential.

Education (or mis-) is the key to the whole thing—and we lost the plot. ‘Streamers’ and notorious antisemites Nick Fuentes and Hasan Piker are two sides of the same antisemitic coin; one with a shine that appeals to the youth more than anything. Those who control the new generations control the future. Because of the algorithm of social media favoring the outrageous and the slanderous, we were already disadvantaged; but we haven’t even been fighting. Staggering numbers of the youth choose Hamas over Israel when polled. They were primed by their favorite entertainers to do so. Many, many teachers and professors implicitly already agreed with this bias; and the government is about to give them carte blanche to teach antisemitic “history” as official school curricula.

To add fuel to the fire, the antisemitism we have seen seeping out of the very pores of movements that once labeled themselves as “progressive” is becoming just as torrential from conservative circles. It took approximately two months after Charlie Kirk’s assassination for Turning Point USA to betray the very principles Charlie stood for as an uncompromising Zionist and supporter of the people and nation of Israel. Those of you who remember my letter from that time will remember that I predicted this exact scenario. The person who should be 2025 Antisemite of the Year—Tucker Carlson—has laid claim to the kingdom. By platforming his ‘buddy’ Nick Fuentes and viciously attacking Zionist conservatives like Ted Cruz, Tucker has led millions down the rabbit hole of antisemitic conspiracy theories and outright hatred of the Jewish people.

Mamdani will likely announce his willingness to work with anti-Israel/antisemitic Republicans—and only such Republicans. I’m sure many will jump at the opportunity, even if they were previously supportive of the Jewish state. The power-hungry will chase power, and Mamdani is the perfect magnet for sycophants. Thus he will himself help to normalize antisemitism among conservatives.

The trap closes on all sides. We have never been in a more precarious position. I have said many times before that you must rid yourself of the terminally-limited metaphors of ‘right wing’ and ‘left wing’ to understand the politics of today. Mamdani and Nick Fuentes are working towards the same goal. It can be summed up in the ambition to change a single word in history textbooks: in the sentence “The Jewish people are…”, they seek to change it to “The Jewish people were…” They will accomplish this by destroying the Jewish state and thus making Jews stateless and helpless in the hands of larger empires and nations; then, the slaughter among the nations begins again. Mamdani works directly against Israel; Nick Fuentes works directly against the Jewish people more broadly. They will meet in the middle where true genocide lies.

Ironically however, Mamdani’s rise to power creates a sort of opportunity. Antisemitism was the counterculture; now, it has become the mainstream. It is the authority. It will be mandated in public schools. The “genocide” libel against Israel will become textbook “truth”. Antisemitic conspiracy theories we once thought so outlandish no one could possibly believe them will be lectured to children as gospel. Holocaust education will disappear in the best of scenarios; in the worst, Holocaust denialism will be taught instead. Authoritarian control over information, but moreso Brave New World than 1984 or Fahrenheit 451.

We can use this to our advantage. People don’t like being told what to believe—especially teenagers. I was just such a rebellious teenager in Sunday school. Being told that the Earth was six thousand years old and don’t you dare question it turned me for a time into a radical atheist. I have mellowed out over time; but the same principle applies. If anti-Zionism is forced down teenager’s throats, many will swallow it; but many more will vomit it up and rebel against the system. Zionism is the counterculture now. We would be blind stupid to not use this fact to our advantage.

We must therefore organize independent education initiatives to speak Truth to power. Entertainment. Streaming. Short-form video content. Whatever the next big social media platform is. We must get on top of all of these terrains of the information war, and we must do so immediately. I have been developing my short-form skills and will next likely try to capture a sizeable streaming audience. Make sure you are subscribed to A Dose of Sanity Radio on YouTube, youtube.com/@ADoseofSanityRadio to catch any future live news streams and to boost my signal. I also have ideas on entertainment; stay tuned for updates from me in that domain. We must realize that we cannot draw in the audience that needs to hear our message by hammering the singular nail of Zionism. Each of us must work to develop our own interests and humanize ourselves to those who have been taught to hate us. If we only ever talk about Zionism or related topics, we will never reach anyone except those who are already primed to find us.

I cannot tell you how many now have called me hyperbolic for my existential concern about Mamdani and the ideology he stands for. I wish most fervently for my critics to be right and for myself to be wrong…but I don’t think I am; not in essence. If I have been wrong in my predictions before, it is because of their contents and not their overall form. I have studied authoritarian after authoritarian, dictator after dictator; every bone in my body is screaming at the danger this man poses. His sickly-sweet smile cannot hide his ruthless ideology of true hatred for Israel and its people. We know what he has said, what he has done, who he associates with. It is fantastically wishful thinking to believe that the intolerant will magically become tolerant upon entering public office. I wish I lived in that world instead of reality.

You are not having a nightmare. This is not a dream. You are wide awake. Organize the resistance. Mobilize the righteous. RESIST ANTISEMITISM, NEW YORK CITY.

Postscript: This will be a much longer war than any of us hoped or dreaded. The fight against antisemitism in our time has turned generational. It always was in truth; but, in the aftermath of the Holocaust, many like myself had assumed humanity had finally learned better. We have not. It may be fifty years or more before those in our modern era who seek the destruction of the people of Israel finally concede defeat; if, indeed, such a surrender of their hatred can ever be attained. I cannot say where or when their power will reach its height. I cannot predict with any certainty how many will die this time for it. But I know that I, that we, must stand against it, as it will consume our world and everything in it if we allow it to. Never again is now, and forever more.
